What leather do you use in your products?

We are obsessed with the selection of leather that we use for our products. As such, we mainly use high quality full grain vegetable tanned leather.

While our team take the upmost care in selecting our leather, there may be small deviances in colour and minor blemishes/marks that comes from the natural skin of the animal.

Do you have exotic leathers (e.g. Crocodile, Snake Skin etc.)?

We do stock exotic leathers like crocodiles, python and ostrich. Do engage us to create a exquisite piece in exotic leather.

How do I care for my leather product?

With proper care, your leather product will reward you with years of use. Our vegetable-tanned leather will show its natural characteristics as it absorbs its surrounding elements and patina with use. Here are some leather care tips to ensure the longevity of your product:

Avoid damp and wet surfaces

Wipe off any contact with water with a soft cloth. The leather will absorb any remaining droplets and dry naturally. When storing your leather product for an extended period, keep them dry with desiccants.

Avoid prolonged exposure to heat

Limit exposure to direct heat and sunlight as the leather may be dry out

Maintain with a leather balm

Regular polishing with a leather balm will enhance the luster of the leather. Apply the leather balm with a clean soft cloth, allow the leather to absorb the leather balm before buffing it with the soft cloth.


What customisation options are available?

Every aspect of your item can be customised, subject to availability of materials. Thread color, hardware color (e.g. buttons, buckles), hot-stamping of names, design of pockets, edge color and more. We are happy to work with you to realise any ideas you have.

How long does it take to ship my order?

As most items are customisable and carefully handcrafted, it will take 1-2 weeks for us to complete your order (depending on complexity). We estimate delivery to take 2 working days (local) and 3-10 working days (overseas).

Once your order is shipped, we will contact you with a tracking number.

Please approach us if your have any urgent requests.

What is the local shipping (Singapore) rates?

At Hides and Thread, we provide free local (Singapore) shipping for all our products. For a total order value of $50 or more, we will send them via registered mail (Singpost Smartpac). All other orders will be shipped via normal mail.

Do you ship internationally? 

Yes, we ship internationally. The shipping rates for international packages are as follows:

International Express Delivery

– International Express Delivery (3 to 7 working days) – S$30
– Europe & United States Express Delivery (3 to 7 working days) – S$45

Standard Delivery with tracking

– Standard Delivery with tracking (7 to 21 working days) – S$15

Kindly contact your local post office if the tracking states “Arrived at destination facility” or “Departed from Local Distribution Center”

We do our best in ensuring quick and smooth deliveries internationally. International packages are subjected to custom clearances at destination countries, any additional charges must be fuilfiled by the recipient. This process may cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates. However, we are not responsible for any delays and extra fees which may be applied by customs and duty offices of the recipient’s country.

We will not be liable for incorrect or incomplete address provided. A redispatch fee of S$15 (standard delivery) will be required if the parcel returns to us. We will contact you if it happens.
